Police officer murdered in Drama, Greece after domestic dispute

A 45‑year‑old female police officer was fatally stabbed in her home in Drama, Greece, by her husband, also a police officer. The autopsy revealed at least seven stab wounds, including a fatal injury to the heart. The victim had repeatedly requested a transfer to another unit in Thessaloniki to escape the marriage, a request that was eventually approved.

Investigators found tranquilizers, antidepressants and panic‑attack medication in the couple’s residence. The husband, who had undergone psychological testing that showed no concerning issues, later died at the scene with his service weapon and a rifle found beside him. Their 16‑year‑old son heard the attack, discovered his mother in the basement and called emergency services. The case is being examined for possible failures in police and psychological support procedures.
