Police officer pleads guilty to triple murder in Venezuela
Jesús Carrión, an active police officer, pleaded guilty during his first hearing to the triple murder of his former partner, Angelis Estefani Guerra Tocuyo, and her two daughters. The incident occurred near 3:00 a.m. in the Lomas del Sol community of Anzoátegui state.
Carrión used his service weapon to carry out the killings. Following the attack, he fled the scene and discarded the firearm in the La Gallera sector before being apprehended by state police. The Public Ministry has charged him with aggravated femicide and qualified intentional homicide, requesting his transfer to the Centro Penitenciario Agroproductivo.
Local residents reported a history of recurring physical and psychological abuse within the household. In response to the crime, family members and supporters held a demonstration at the Public Ministry in Puerto La Cruz, carrying the victims' coffins to demand swift justice.
