Police officer Wellington Gonçalves Cedro killed in Mocajuba

Wellington Gonçalves Cedro, a 21-year-old police officer, was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday in Mocajuba, located in northeastern Pará. According to reports, Cedro was ambushed by armed men as he was leaving a party.

The victim was struck by multiple gunshots and died at the scene. Originally from Parambu, Ceará, Cedro maintained strong family ties in his home state, where he will be held for wake and burial.

Military Police have cordoned off the crime scene. Authorities have not yet released official information regarding suspects, arrests, or a specific motive. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the homicide was related to his professional duties.
