Aguascalientes police officer faces dismissal after video shows assault on colleague

The Aguascalientes State Public Security Secretariat is investigating a municipal police officer who may face dismissal following a video showing him physically assaulting a female colleague in public. The footage, which circulated on social media, depicts the man pulling the woman's hair, biting her face, striking her, and engaging in inappropriate touching.

Antonio Martínez Romo, the head of the security department, stated that the incident is being treated as an extremely serious violation of internal regulations. He emphasized that a personal relationship does not justify violence and noted the gravity of the assault occurring while the officer was in uniform.

The administrative review is being conducted independently of any potential criminal investigation. Authorities have contacted the victim, who retains the option to file formal charges with the Public Ministry.
