Police officers in San Juan save infant from choking
Police officers in San Juan, Argentina, saved the life of a 21-month-old boy after he suffered a severe respiratory obstruction due to food. The incident took place at Police Station 34 in La Bebida, Rivadavia.
Cabo Marcela Florido performed the Heimlich maneuver on the infant, Lian Mateo, after his mother arrived at the station seeking urgent help. Following the maneuver, the child expelled a piece of meat and other secretions. Agent Ramón Bragganiolo assisted in cleaning the child and ensuring he was breathing properly.
Medical professionals from the 107 Emergency Medical Service arrived to examine the infant. After a thorough review, they determined the child was no longer at risk and did not require hospitalization. The boy was able to return home in stable condition under his mother's care.
