Police officers injured during protests and pursuit in Italy
Police officers in Italy have been targeted during various incidents across the country. In Catanzaro, a high-tension pursuit on the seafront resulted in the arrest of a man for resistance and injury. During the operation, three police officers sustained injuries with recovery periods estimated up to 15 days.
Separately, Valter Mazzetti, General Secretary of the FSP Polizia di Stato, condemned widespread violence during school-related protests in multiple Italian cities. He reported that demonstrators, while chanting slogans against violence, threw bottles and paper bombs at officers. Mazzetti also highlighted a criminal incursion at an elementary school in Turin, where hooded individuals armed with iron bars caused damage.
