Police officers injured in terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan

Six police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and a Station House Officer (SHO), were injured during a terrorist attack in the Hathala area of Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred near Al-Amin Farmhouse when militants opened fire on vehicles carrying the police party.

The gunfire caused one vehicle to lose control and overturn, resulting in injuries to the DSP, an Assistant Sub-Inspector, two constables, a gunman, and a lady constable. Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Makin confirmed that the injured were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Officials stated the condition of the wounded personnel is stable.

Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the perpetrators. The incident occurs amid rising violence in the province; data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies indicates a significant increase in fatalities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during 2025 compared to the previous year.
