Police Officers’ Wives Association empowers 110 women in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) held an empowerment summit in Abuja to support 110 police wives and widows. Held at the POWA Secretariat in Utako, the event operated under the theme “Empowered Women, Stronger Families, Stronger Society.”

Chairperson Hajiya Maimuna Muhammed Sanusi stated that the initiative aims to provide beneficiaries with opportunities to improve their livelihoods and become self-sufficient. The program is part of a broader commitment to promote the welfare and dignity of the families of both serving and deceased police officers.

Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, commended the association for its efforts, noting that supporting these families is an investment in the stability and resilience of the police force. He encouraged the beneficiaries to use the empowerment support responsibly.
