Police operations in Brazil lead to drug seizure and robbery arrest
In Alagoas, a 19-year-old man was apprehended by the Military Police in Arapiraca after a vehicle pursuit. The driver, who did not possess a driver's license, was operating a Volkswagen Gol with expired registration. During a search of the vehicle, police discovered five packets of a substance resembling cocaine and four pills. The individual was issued a report for possession of narcotics for personal use and cited for driving violations.
In Maranhão, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Bacuri in connection with an armed home invasion. Investigators report that in March, a group of approximately six armed men entered the residence of an elderly woman, holding her and three minors captive. While the group's primary objective was reportedly to locate a specific individual, they fled with three mobile phones after failing to find him. The suspect, who has prior robbery charges, was detained as part of Operation Protetor das Divisas, a multi-municipality security initiative.
