Police operations in Catalonia target speeding and vandalism
Law enforcement agencies in Catalonia have conducted several operations to improve public safety and address criminal activity. In the Lleida region, Mossos d’Esquadra carried out a three-hour traffic control operation across six locations. During this period, officers stopped 390 vehicles and issued 252 citations for speeding. The operation also identified 31 instances of distracted driving, 25 transport regulation violations, and three cases involving drug possession. Additionally, two individuals were criminally investigated for alleged document forgery.
In Terrassa, local authorities and Mossos d’Esquadra have agreed to increase surveillance in large parking areas following a recent vandalism incident in the Ègara neighborhood. The attack, which targeted vehicles on Granada and Bisbe Castelltort streets and near the Castellar road, resulted in broken windows on 25 vehicles. A 25-year-old man with ten prior police records was arrested for property damage, resistance, and disobedience. The municipal government is now coordinating with investigative units to prevent further attacks and assist victims in filing formal reports.
