Police operations in Mallorca lead to arrests and drug seizures

Law enforcement operations in Mallorca have resulted in multiple arrests and drug-related sanctions during recent festivities and tourist periods.

In Maó, the National Police concluded a security deployment for the Fiestas de la Virgen de Gracia with nine arrests. The operations included identity checks and vehicle inspections, leading to 107 proposed sanctions for drug possession or consumption and six for weapon possession. Arrests were also made for domestic abuse, theft, threats, and injuries. Additionally, officers provided humanitarian assistance for medical emergencies, including fainting and injuries.

In Playa de Palma, undercover SETUR officers intercepted a drug transaction involving a street vendor. A 27-year-old man attempted to sell cocaine to a tourist by disguising the exchange as a sale of sunglasses for 40 euros. Following the interception of the buyer, who was found in possession of cocaine and marijuana, police successfully located the suspect.
