Magallanes Regional Security Plan results in multiple arrests and seizures

A comprehensive security operation known as the Regional Special Security Plan has been implemented across the Magallanes Region in Chile. The initiative, coordinated by Public Security official Ronald López, involves multiple agencies including Carabineros, the Investigative Police (PDI), Maritime Police, Gendarmerie, and Customs.

In Punta Arenas, authorities conducted 201 identity checks and 119 vehicle inspections. The operation resulted in one arrest under an active judicial order and the inspection of 25 firearms. Additionally, 138 single-projectile munitions were voluntarily surrendered. Migratory inspections in commercial areas led to the identification of four individuals in an irregular migratory situation.

In Puerto Natales, within the Última Esperanza province, joint operations by Carabineros and the PDI resulted in six arrests, five of whom were wanted under active judicial orders. Authorities also conducted 93 identity checks and 50 vehicle inspections in the area.
