Police operations result in fatal shootouts and major weapon seizures

In Venezuela, three suspected extortionists were killed during simultaneous police operations in the Sur del Lago region. Members of the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas (Cicpc) engaged in two separate shootouts with suspects. The deceased were identified as Ender Elías Mendoza Alvarado (alias ‘El Guaro’), Jean Carlos González Montiel (alias ‘El Niño’), and Johan José González Montiel (alias ‘El Munrra’). Authorities recovered three firearms, including a Dan Wesson Arms revolver and a Pietro Beretta pistol that had been reported stolen.

In a separate incident in Villa Las Rosas, Salta, authorities seized a significant arsenal during a raid related to a case of alleged unlawful retention. The seizure included six pistols, two rifles, approximately 500 cartridges, seven grenades, and an anti-aircraft projectile. Two individuals were taken into custody following the discovery of the military-grade explosives and weaponry.
