Police personnel in Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh honored with service medals

On the occasion of Independence Day, police and civil defense personnel in Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh have been honored with prestigious service medals for their professional contributions.

In Tamil Nadu, 20 personnel were selected for central government awards. This includes three officers receiving the President's Medal for Distinguished Service, such as Additional SPs R. Ramachandran, J. Vijay Anand, and Assistant Commandant S. Kumar. Additionally, 17 personnel received the President's Medal for Meritorious Service, representing various units including the Coastal Security Group, Crime Branch-CID, State Intelligence, and Cyber Crime Wing.

In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presented awards to police and civil defense officers during a state-level ceremony in Raipur. ASI Ramavatar Singh Rajput was awarded the President's Distinguished Service Medal for over 36 years of dedicated service. Furthermore, 10 officers, including IG Ramgopal and several Superintendents of Police, received the Indian Police Medal for excellence in crime control, law and order, and modern policing. Civil defense personnel were also recognized for their contributions to disaster management and rescue operations.
