Police probe suspicious death of Bengaluru woman in Sakleshpur lodge

Police in Hassan district, Karnataka, are investigating the suspicious death of a 23-year-old woman named Varsha at a lodge in Sakleshpur taluk. Varsha, a resident of Bengaluru and a Chartered Accountancy student, had traveled to the area on September 11 with three friends.

According to officials, the incident occurred on September 15 while Varsha was in a bathroom at the Sridevi Lodge in Valalahalli Kudige village. She reportedly collapsed and was subsequently transported to Hettur Hospital and then to Sakleshpur Government Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Preliminary reports indicate that Varsha and her three companions—identified as classmates—had been staying in a single room. An Unnatural Death Report has been filed, and the body has been moved to HIMS for a post-mortem examination. Authorities stated that the exact cause of death will be determined once the autopsy results are available.
