Paraguayan Police deploy 3,400 officers for football superclásico
The Paraguayan National Police has announced an unprecedented security operation for the upcoming superclásico between Cerro Porteño and Olimpia. Approximately 3,400 officers will be deployed to manage security, including three rings of protection around the La Nueva Olla stadium in Barrio Obrero.
The operation includes random checks on fans traveling by bus, breathalyzer tests, and the use of technological tools to detect suspicious behavior. Security protocols will also involve checkpoints at major entrances to Asunción. To manage weather concerns, officials stated that umbrellas are prohibited, with rain ponchos being the only permitted item. Additionally, Cerro Porteño has applied admission rights, meaning fans will not be allowed to bring drums or flags into the stadium.
