Police pursuits in Australia uncover firearms, drugs and lead to multiple charges

After a helicopter‑assisted chase through city streets, he was arrested and denied bail. He faces charges for dangerous driving and a history of violent offences.

In Wellington, New South Wales, a 29‑year‑old driver evaded police on the Mitchell Highway before abandoning his vehicle on a dirt road. A search of the sedan uncovered two rifles, ammunition, methamphetamine, and tools for housebreaking. He was arrested, charged with unauthorised firearm possession, drug possession, dangerous driving and related offences, and also denied bail.
