Police Raid Drug Kiosk in Viedma, Argentina Seizes Cocaine and Cash

An anonymous tip to the 0800‑DROGAS hotline prompted Rio Negro police to raid a residential premises on Calle 9 in Viedma, uncovering a small‑scale drug distribution point. Officers from the Toxicomanía unit of the Zona Atlántica, supported by the special COER team, seized 17 packages of fractionated cocaine, several bags of marijuana, a precision digital balance, nylon cutting tools, mobile phones, and more than 600,000 Argentine pesos in cash. A POS terminal used for electronic payments was also recovered for forensic analysis.

The operation also identified illegal sales of unlicensed alcoholic beverages, leading municipal officials from the Commerce and Bromatology departments to intervene. The primary suspect, a 40‑year‑old man found at the location with his 16‑year‑old daughter, has been linked to a federal drug‑law case. The investigation remains ongoing under federal jurisdiction.
