Police recover safe and evidence from robbery of politician Jonathan Back
Police in Los Cedrales, Alto Paraná, have recovered a safe and other evidence related to the robbery of political candidate Jonathan Back. The safe, which was found without its door, was discovered in a stream in the Jepopyhy–San Isidro colony.
Earlier in the investigation, authorities found checks and a door-breaking ram on a local road. The robbery, which occurred on September 13, reportedly resulted in losses of approximately 500 million guaraníes in cash and jewelry.
In a previous raid on a rental property used as a hideout, investigators seized a .22 caliber rifle, two bulletproof vests, camouflage clothing, ammunition, and several items belonging to the victim. Two vehicles used during the heist, a Mitsubishi Tritón and a Kia Sportage, were also located in the area. The evidence has been handed over to the Public Ministry for analysis.
