Police recover stolen 3-million-euro Bugatti in Austria
Austrian police have recovered a luxury Bugatti Chiron, valued at approximately three million euros, following an international manhunt. The vehicle was stolen near Zagreb, Croatia, on a Wednesday afternoon and was subsequently driven through Slovenia before entering Austria via the Spielfeld border crossing.
Styrian highway police located the supercar at a gas station on the A9 motorway near Seiersberg-Pirka shortly after 7:00 PM. A 36-year-old Croatian national was arrested at the scene. During interrogation by the Styrian State Criminal Investigation Office, the suspect confessed to the theft.
While Austrian authorities officially described the vehicle as a luxury sports car from a French manufacturer, Croatian media reports indicate the car belongs to Mate Rimac, the founder of Rimac Group and head of Bugatti Rimac. The vehicle has since been returned to its rightful owner.
