Police recover stolen Skoda and arrest suspect in Erbendorf

Police in Erbendorf have recovered a Skoda vehicle that was stolen from a nursing service. The theft, which occurred in Kemnath between September 8 and 14, 2026, involved the unauthorized removal of original keys from a key box without signs of forced entry.

Authorities have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the theft. Investigations suggest the suspect is a former employee of the nursing service who failed to return office keys as required. Officers located the vehicle and the suspect in a garage in a backyard in Erbendorf. The car has since been returned to the owner, and the suspect was released following questioning due to a lack of flight risk.
