Police renew appeal in 1976 disappearance of Birmingham student Sarjit Kaur Mann in France

West Midlands Police have launched a renewed appeal for information about the disappearance of 20‑year‑old Sarjit Kaur Mann, a University of Birmingham student who vanished in September 1976 while on holiday in Antibes, France. Mann chose to stay behind when her family returned to Britain and was never seen again. A woman identified only as Jane later called the family claiming Mann had drowned before abruptly ending the call; the caller has never been identified.

Detectives continue to investigate the cold case and are urging anyone who knew Mann or her family at the time to contact the police at 0121 626 7003, hoping new leads can bring closure to her relatives on what would have been her 70th birthday.
