Police report various incidents in Czechia involving theft and fraud

Authorities in Czechia have reported two distinct incidents involving financial loss and unusual circumstances. In Plzeň, municipal police responded to a report of cash and a wallet left near an ATM at a Česká spořitelna branch. The items belonged to a 43-year-old man who had fallen asleep while attempting to deposit cash after visiting a local music club. The police successfully recovered the wallet, identification, and cash, returning them to the owner.

In Jihlava, a woman was defrauded of 280,000 CZK by an individual posing as a bank employee. The perpetrator convinced the victim that her identity had been compromised and her savings were at risk. Following the scammer's instructions, the woman withdrew the cash and handed it to an unknown woman in Masarykovo náměstí. The fraudster also coerced the victim into taking intimate photographs under the false pretense of identity verification for a reserve bank account. Police are currently investigating the fraud and warning citizens against sharing sensitive information or cash with strangers.
