Police reports in Santa Catarina involve theft and wildlife seizure

The Military Police of Santa Catarina released reports covering recent activities across several municipalities. In Blumenau, a 45-year-old man was arrested in flagrante for stealing a bicycle from a 32-year-old victim in the city center. The theft was observed by a passing Penal Police team, who detained the suspect until Military Police arrived.

In a separate incident in Araquari, a joint operation between the Civil Police and Environmental Military Police executed a search and seizure warrant. Authorities rescued a boa constrictor and three corn snakes being kept illegally in a residence. While the boa is a native species, the corn snakes are exotic reptiles from North America whose domestic keeping is prohibited under Brazilian environmental legislation. The property owners were taken to a police station to provide statements to environmental authorities.
