Criminal investigations reported across Turkey

Multiple criminal cases have been reported in Turkey involving homicide, inheritance fraud, and long-term child abduction.

In Istanbul, Volkan K. was arrested for the murder of his wife, Bedriye Karaçay. Following a dispute, the suspect allegedly strangled Karaçay and left her body wrapped in a blanket in a forest area in Ayazağa. In his statement, the suspect admitted to the act and claimed he stayed with neighbors for an hour after the incident to mislead them.

In Adana, a 95-year-old woman, Türkan İşbilir, is the victim of an alleged inheritance scheme. It is claimed that her granddaughter, G. K., and daughter, Elmas Erdem, manipulated the elderly woman into selling her land. While initially promised 10 apartments, the land was reportedly sold for 17 million TL, of which 13 million TL was spent within 20 days on luxury goods and electronics.

A significant case in Bursa involved the rescue of 8-year-old Nazar S., who had been held for seven years by his grandmother, Hanife Taşdemir Stief, after being abducted by his father. Following a specialized police operation, the child was reunited with his mother in Germany. Court records revealed various videos and photos of the child's life while in captivity.
