Police rescue hedgehog from shaft in Frauenfeld

Police in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, successfully rescued a hedgehog that had fallen into a shaft during its nocturnal activity. After passersby discovered the animal and alerted authorities, the Thurgau Cantonal Police and the Bodan 720 crew arrived at the scene to remove the shaft cover and free the creature.

The incident highlights the risks urban wildlife faces, such as deep shafts and steep pits. Experts suggest securing such hazards or providing exit aids and creating small openings in garden fences to allow hedgehogs to move safely between habitats.
