Police respond to separate child-related emergencies in Poland

Two distinct incidents involving young children occurred in Poland. In Otwock, a 34-year-old man was detained after being found highly intoxicated while caring for his two-year-old daughter. Witnesses alerted the police after observing the man pushing a stroller while appearing heavily under the influence. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 2.6 per mille. The man faces charges for exposing a person under his care to direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm, an offense punishable by up to five years in prison.

In the Halemba district of Ruda Śląska, police officers intervened to save the life of an 18-month-old girl who began choking on the street. Officers Daniel Skabka and Daniel Poloczka, one of whom is trained in advanced first aid, provided immediate assistance until emergency medical services arrived. The child remained conscious and was subsequently taken into the care of paramedics.
