Police respond to separate incidents in Hanau and Neunkirchen

Two separate police incidents occurred in Germany involving traffic accidents and domestic disturbances.

In Hanau, a four-year-old boy was struck by a car after walking between parked vehicles on Heinrich-Bott-Straße. The child was treated by emergency services and taken to a hospital. Shortly after, an 18-year-old driver fled a police checkpoint in a VW T-Roc, driving through a pedestrian zone and running a red light. After crashing into two parked cars, the driver fled on foot and discarded a gas pistol. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving without a license, fleeing the scene of an accident, and resisting law enforcement.

In Neunkirchen, police responded to a report of a heavily intoxicated man shouting in an apartment in Wellesweiler. The 28-year-old father was found to be unable to care for his two young children, leading the youth welfare office to take custody of them. During the arrest, the man became aggressive and resisted officers, resulting in a fall in a holding cell that caused minor injuries to a police officer. The man faces charges of resisting law enforcement.
