Police respond to stabbing in Witten and explosive discovery in Heidelberg

In Witten, a 70-year-old man with German and Polish citizenship was arrested following a stabbing attack. The incident occurred after a dispute with his 65-year-old partner, who sustained serious injuries. Police arrived at Dirschauer Straße to provide first aid before the victim was transported to a hospital. A homicide commission has been established to investigate the circumstances of the attack.

In Heidelberg, authorities responded to the discovery of several old containers holding an explosive substance within a property on Hauptstraße. To manage the risk, the containers are being moved to a controlled location for disposal. The operation has resulted in road closures in the southwestern part of the city and a full closure of sections of the Hauptstraße pedestrian zone to allow specialists from the State Criminal Police Office of Baden-Württemberg to conduct the disposal.
