Police respond to suspicious objects in Thessaloniki and Athens

Authorities in Greece were mobilized following reports of suspicious objects in two different cities.

In Thessaloniki, police cordoned off an area in Aristotelous Square after an abandoned suitcase was reported. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (TEEM) conducted an inspection using specialized dogs, which yielded negative results.

In Athens, a police response was triggered on Sisini Street, located behind the Australian Embassy, following reports of a suspicious paper bag. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department was dispatched to examine the object.
