Police restore access to three isolated areas on Flores Island after earthquake
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) have successfully restored access to three isolated areas on Flores Island following earthquake and landslide damage in East Nusa Tenggara. East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, confirmed that the previously cut-off locations include Lamba Leda Utara in East Manggarai Regency, Reo in Manggarai Regency, and Dimpong Village in North Rahong.
In Lamba Leda Utara, officers provided food, water, and medicine, and successfully evacuated a pregnant woman experiencing complications from premature labor to a hospital. In Reo, police established emergency response posts and tents to assist affected residents. In Dimpong Village, Brimob personnel were deployed to respond to social media reports of isolated citizens in need of aid. Authorities continue to distribute assistance to residents in the disaster-stricken regions.
