Police retirees embark on 530km pilgrimage to San Michele
Michele Attolico and Giuliano Maltempi, both retired members of the State Police, are undertaking a 530-kilometer walking pilgrimage along the via Micaelica. The journey, which began in Rome on September 9, aims to convey messages of peace, solidarity, and hope in honor of Saint Michael, the patron saint of the State Police.
The walkers are scheduled to arrive in Orsara di Puglia on September 24. During their stop, they will visit the Sant’Angelo Abbey and the ancient Cave of Saint Michael. They will be officially welcomed by local authorities, including Mayor Mario Simonelli, before attending mass at the San Nicola parish church.
The pilgrimage will continue through various locations in the Lazio, Campania, and Puglia regions, with the final destination being Monte Sant’Angelo, where they are expected to arrive on September 28.
