Police search for missing man and expel criminal linked to trafficking

Authorities in Romania and Italy are managing two distinct criminal and missing person cases.

In Romania, police are searching for 36-year-old George Daniel Calcea, a resident of the UK who went missing on September 1. Calcea, originally from Întorsura Buzăului, was traveling from Brașov to the airport to return to the United Kingdom after a vacation when contact was lost. He is described as 1.78 meters tall, weighing approximately 70 kilograms, with an athletic build and brown hair. The search has gained public attention following an appeal by Marian Godină.

In Italy, a 47-year-old Romanian national has been expelled to Bucharest after being deemed a “social danger” by Italian authorities. The individual, who was intercepted in Susa, Torino, had previously been sentenced to two years and eight months for the exploitation of prostitution. Investigators suggest he may have links to organized crime groups involved in human trafficking, slavery, and sexual violence against Romanian women. He also has a criminal history involving robbery and bodily harm.
