Police seize 11 kilograms of cocaine in Austria

The Vienna State Criminal Police Office has dismantled a drug trafficking group following a months-long investigation that began in June 2026. During a coordinated operation involving the WEGA special unit, authorities arrested six individuals near Schwechat.

Following the surveillance of a target person, investigators used a recovered key card to search a hotel room in Lower Austria. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 11 kilograms of cocaine, along with cash and several mobile phones.

The six suspects in custody include three Albanian nationals, aged 38, 42, and 46, and three Italian nationals, aged 23, 53, and 72. Investigations into the group's activities are ongoing.
