Police seize 120 g of heroin in Alghero, Italy

On 7 July 2026, police from the Alghero public security commissariat stopped a speeding vehicle traveling from Sassari to the Riviera del Corallo. During the checkpoint in Galboneddu, officers searched the car and found 120 grams of pure heroin hidden under a seat and in a sock. Two male couriers were arrested on the spot for possession with intent to distribute. The drugs and the vehicle were seized, and the two suspects were placed under house arrest pending a direct‑court hearing in Sassari.

The operation is part of a broader territorial‑control initiative by the local police, intensified for the summer season when drug‑related activity typically rises.
