Police seize 1.5 tons of copper and arrest driver for bribery
Police in the Rebernice area of Slovenia intercepted a Bulgarian-registered van containing approximately 1.5 tons of copper sheeting of unknown origin. The driver, a 49-year-old Romanian national, was unable to provide any documentation to verify the legal source of the cargo.
During the inspection, the driver allegedly attempted to bribe the traffic officers with a banknote to avoid further investigation. Following the incident, the individual was detained. Authorities suspect the copper may have been obtained through criminal activity, potentially originating from neighboring Italy.
