Police seize drugs and weapons in two Bahia operations, Brazil
On Sunday, a 39‑year‑old man was arrested in Serrinha, Bahia, after police stopped him during a patrol and discovered a portion of cocaine concealed inside an asthma inhaler. The suspect was taken to the local police station, released, and will face charges while remaining free.
In a separate operation the same day in Vitória da Conquista, also in Bahia, authorities detained a homicide suspect who was carrying a 9 mm CZ pistol loaded with ammunition, more than 1 kg of marijuana, 31 g of cocaine, two precision scales, four credit cards, two cell phones, a gold‑tone watch and cash. A vehicle subject to a court restriction was also seized. The suspect and the seized items were forwarded to the Integrated Public Security District.
Both arrests illustrate intensified police actions against drug trafficking and related violent crime in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
