Police seize drugs, weapons and arrest suspect in Cláudio, Minas Gerais
A joint operation by the Military Police, Civil Police and Municipal Guard in the city of Cláudio, Minas Gerais, executed on 9 July 2026, resulted in the seizure of a Taurus .380 pistol, ammunition, cash, multiple quantities of marijuana, hashish, ecstasy tablets and cocaine preparation kits. Investigators also confiscated precision scales, packaging materials and several mobile phones. A 28‑year‑old man identified by the initials J.F.C.S.J. was arrested; he has prior records for homicide, robbery and drug trafficking. A second suspect, identified as N.R.R.F.G., remains at large. All seized items were sent for forensic analysis.
The operation involved specialized units, including the 3rd Platoon of Cláudio, the mobile tactical team of the 23rd Battalion, a canine patrol, and the state’s Pegasus aircraft, enabling simultaneous searches across multiple neighborhoods. Authorities highlighted the coordination among the agencies as a model for combating drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession in the region.
