Police seize firearms in separate Brazilian operations

Authorities in Brazil have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of firearms and the arrest of individuals in different states.

In Jaguariaíva, Paraná, the Civil Police executed a search warrant in the rural area of Sertão. A 36-year-old man was arrested after a .28 caliber shotgun and ammunition were found in his residence. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into domestic violence cases.

In Minas Gerais, Military Police intercepted a vehicle on the MGC-383 highway in Soledade de Minas. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a 9 mm Taurus pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition hidden inside a baby's bag. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly claimed he was being paid R$ 1,500 to transport the weapon to Conceição do Rio Verde. The individual was detained for transporting the unregistered firearm.
