Police seize illegal electric scooter after accident in Stančići
A traffic accident occurred in Stančići, a suburb of Bjelovar, involving an electric scooter that exceeded legal power limits. A 22-year-old driver was transporting a 17-year-old passenger on a 2000 W scooter when they lost balance and fell onto the road, resulting in physical injuries to both individuals.
Police seized the vehicle because it does not meet the legal requirements for a personal transport device. According to road safety laws, such devices must have a continuous motor power of no more than 0.6 kW (600 W) and a maximum design speed of 25 km/h. Authorities reminded citizens to verify motor power and speed before purchasing or using electric scooters and emphasized that carrying passengers on these devices is prohibited.
