Police seize narcotics in separate operations in Chile and Argentina

Police in Chile and Argentina have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of narcotics.

In Punta Arenas, Chile, the O.S. 7 section of Carabineros arrested a 28-year-old man following an investigation with the local prosecutor's office. During a raid at a residence on Cabo Forward passage, officers discovered 21 cannabis sativa plants and approximately 124 grams of marijuana. A digital scale and a mobile phone were also confiscated. The individual, who has no prior criminal record, faces charges for violating Law No. 20.000 regarding illicit drug trafficking.

In Villa Ocampo, Argentina, authorities apprehended a young man after a pursuit involving a motorcycle. The incident began near the bus terminal when officers observed a man carrying a bag onto a motorcycle. After attempting to flee, the individual was intercepted at a local school. A search of the bag revealed substances suspected to be marijuana. The Federal Prosecutor's office directed the PDI Las Toscas to conduct field tests, which confirmed the presence of the drug.
