Police stop drunk driver with child in car in Germany
A 31-year-old woman was intercepted by police in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district of Germany after driving with a blood alcohol content of 3.15 per mille. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon near Veldenz, where witnesses reported a vehicle driving in erratic patterns along a district road.
Witnesses followed the vehicle until it became stuck on a forest path. Upon being stopped by officers from Bernkastel-Kues, the woman exhibited aggressive behavior, including attempting to strike a witness. Police had to restrain and handcuff her to prevent further escalation.
A six-year-old girl was present in the vehicle during the drive but was later handed over to her father. Authorities have seized the driver's license, taken a blood sample for evidence, and initiated several criminal proceedings.
