Police training programs advance in Mexico and Argentina

In Mexico, the Fundación Aleatica para la Seguridad Vial completed its 2026 cycle of road safety training for police officers. The final session took place at the Universidad de la Policía de la Ciudad de México (UNIPOL), involving 233 agents from eight different mobility and road safety institutions. Since its inception in 2023, the foundation has provided over 12,000 hours of specialized training to more than 10,000 participants across five Mexican states, including Mexico City, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, and the State of Mexico. The curriculum has recently expanded to include gender perspective topics.

In Argentina, members of the Guardia Urbana in Olavarría have completed their initial training phase. This new communal security body, under the Secretaría de Protección Ciudadana, aims to prevent and deter crimes through active presence and coordination with existing security forces. The training covered various subjects, including public security, criminal law, human rights, gender perspective, first aid, and procedural actions. A second stage of training will be provided by the Instituto Universitario Provincial “Juan Vucetich” under the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security.
