Police union disputes judicial ruling on Roquetas de Mar station
The Unified Police Union (SUP) has issued a statement regarding the future of the National Police station in Roquetas de Mar. Following a ruling by the National Court, the SUP claims that the decision does not prevent the establishment of the station, but rather highlights administrative errors made by the Ministry of the Interior.
The union argues that the court annulled the station's creation due to a lack of specific motivation in the regulatory disposition, rather than a lack of necessity. According to the SUP, the Ministry failed to include sufficient studies or reports to justify the station's inclusion in ministerial orders, relying instead on general references to efficiency and security.
In a separate legal matter, the High Court of Justice of Madrid ruled in favor of the SUP regarding a National Police officer stationed in Ceuta. The court annulled a decision by the Directorate General of the Police to withdraw a residence allowance from an officer while they were on authorized medical leave outside the city. The court determined that the allowance is tied to the professional assignment and cannot be interrupted by temporary absences due to illness, vacations, or official commissions.
