PoliChacao clarifies social media videos show outdated uniforms

The Chacao Municipal Police (PoliChacao) has issued an official statement addressing videos circulating on social media that depict officers in old uniforms. The institution clarified that these recordings are outdated, some potentially dating back more than a year, and do not reflect current operational procedures or the modern appearance of the force.

Since October 2025, PoliChacao has undergone a total modernization of its uniforms to align with Venezuelan national policing standards. The current attire includes municipal flag patches on the sleeves and reflective elements designed to improve officer visibility during night patrols.

The police force reaffirmed its commitment to good policing practices and urged citizens to report any actual misconduct to the Inspectorate for the Control of Police Action (ICAP). Additionally, the organization stated it reserves the right to take legal action against individuals or entities that disseminate false or misleading content intended to discredit the institution.
