Policlinico di Bari launches eCore digital platform with Edison Next

The Policlinico di Bari has introduced eCore, a digital platform developed in collaboration with Edison Next to integrate the management of hospital buildings, maintenance, energy consumption, and space utilization. Presented at the Forum PA Sanità in Rome, the project aims to improve technical intervention planning and reduce the risk of maintenance issues affecting patient care continuity.

The implementation began with the Asclepios pavilion, a 49,000-square-meter facility. Using laser scanning and Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, the project creates digital models that link physical elements with technical data. This data is integrated with the hospital’s FM Portal to streamline maintenance management.

The platform will eventually expand to cover over 320,000 square meters, including the Giovanni XXIII pediatric hospital. Operators can use QR codes or NFC systems to identify environments and record activities directly. The system also integrates with energy management tools to improve infrastructure resilience and energy efficiency through systems like trigeneration.
