Policlinico di Bari renovates maternal-infant center
The Policlinico di Bari has renovated its maternal-infant center to provide integrated services for women and newborns. The project covers the entire care pathway, including medically assisted procreation, fetal medicine, pregnancy monitoring, safe childbirth, and neonatal care.
Key improvements include the renovation of three labor and delivery rooms on the third floor, designed to increase comfort, privacy, and allow partners to be present. The facility also features eight upgraded inpatient rooms within the Gynecology and Obstetrics II unit, directed by Professor Edoardo Di Naro.
To ensure rapid response to complications such as emergency cesarean sections, an operating room attached to the delivery block has been reactivated. Additionally, the Obstetrics and Gynecology I unit, directed by Professor Ettore Cicinelli, provides specialized assistance for high-risk pregnancies, including placental pathologies, and offers gynecological oncological surgery for female genital tumors.
