Policlinico di Palermo suspends variable pay for medical management

The Policlinico ‘Paolo Giaccone’ in Palermo has addressed disputes raised by medical and healthcare unions, including Fp Cgil, Cimo-Fesmed, and Anaao Assomed, regarding the economic treatment of medical management.

Management clarified that recent changes to pay slips were not deductions or adjustments, but rather a “temporary suspension of the payment of the variable part of the position remuneration.” The hospital stated this decision was necessary to comply with the limits of the provisional fund established under article 18, paragraph 1 of 2026, which had been previously negotiated and certified.

In response to union demands for transparency, the hospital administration assured that the requested data would be provided. Further discussions between the strategic management and union organizations are scheduled to take place by mid-September.
