Policlinico di Palermo to restore hospital departments in October

The Policlinico di Palermo is preparing for the gradual return of hospital departments to their permanent locations starting in October. This reorganization follows extensive construction work aimed at seismic and fire safety upgrades, partially funded by the PNRR.

Director General Maria Grazia Furnari addressed the complexities of managing the university hospital, noting that the facility has had to operate in cramped and obsolete spaces due to the age of its buildings. While the structural improvements have necessitated temporary reductions in bed availability and the relocation of services, the administration is working with the Region and other health agencies to accelerate the return to full operational capacity.
