Policy Engagement Toolkit launched to bridge science and politics

The Policy Engagement Toolkit, a new free online resource, has been launched to help scientists and universities better communicate research findings to policymakers. Developed as part of the international ENGAGEgreen project under the Erasmus+ program, the toolkit includes Palacký University Olomouc as a participant.

The tool is designed to support evidence-based policymaking by providing practical guides and examples for researchers, university staff, and public administrators. It assists in translating complex scientific data into concise, understandable documents suitable for decision-making and creating opportunities for direct engagement between scientists and government officials.

Jaroslav Burian from the Department of Geoinformatics at Palacký University noted that while scientists possess valuable knowledge, simply publishing in academic journals is insufficient. To be effective, research must be presented clearly, at the right time, and in a format that decision-makers can actually utilize to address societal challenges.
